Private Markets Investing & Business Operations
Creative investment professional specializing in private markets research and client consulting. Allocated $2 billion in capital across the private equity gatekeeper universe (including fund-of-funds, separate accounts, co-investment funds, and secondary funds) and invested $350 million directly with private equity and private debt GPs. Created and implemented new performance measurement reports and data collection processes that streamlined operations and increased annual revenues by $20-$30k per client.
Started my finance career in Callan’s Client Reporting Services Group (“CRS”) where I executed detailed performance measurement and manager attribution reports for clients. Leveraged statistics and problem solving to identify and correct return anomalies and data capture variances.
● Sourced GPs and spearheaded direct partnership due diligence across private equity (including venture capital and growth equity, buyouts, mezzanine, oil & gas) and distressed debt (control and non-control strategies).
● Responsible for investment selection, monitoring manager performance, and generating client reports.
● Coached CIOs through all phases of the investment and reporting process.
● Bring a unique perspective to the marketplace: understand how Gatekeepers position their brand and products to maintain clients and secure new business.
● Provided Gatekeepers with free value-add feedback to assist their internal firm discussions regarding search dynamics and competitive positioning in the marketplace.
Entrepreneurship—Healthcare Technology Development (VidPT)
In addition to finance, I am passionate about building brands that focus on creating long-term customer value. Have a penchant for survey design, possess a consumer-focused mindset, and love transforming insights into actionable business decisions. Market Research was one of my favorite business school classes and I leveraged the learnings and my passion for physical therapy by creating a B2C physical therapy app that focused on injured athletes in the post-acute care segment.
You can learn more about VidPT’s history on the Healthcare Start-up Tab. Started with an idea, launched a survey, and designed a highly functional MVP. Proud of what I accomplished and the learnings I gleaned from the experience. Plus, I love building things and motivating team members.
A taste of VidPT’s future branding: Tattoos are for kids; show us your scars. [Yes, the launch ad included gnarly injury images and lots of horrible alternative sports wipe-outs—surfing, skiing, snowboarding, skateboarding, etc. while Icona Pop sang “I Love It” in the background.] Hey, it wasn’t your grandma’s rehab app. It was physical therapy meets Strava.
